HEHLER HUSTLE

A selection of projects, orders and actions of the receiving of stolen goods

CONNY
MERCHANDISE

For the Cologne rapper CONNY we designed and produced a merchandise collection consisting of a total of 60 unique items. The conceptual anchor was his EP "Temporär für Immer", whose four tracks shaped the design of the stolen goods. This debut collection was followed by further drops for his releases "Manic Pixie Dream Boy" vol. 1 and 2.

F.R.E.S.H. MERCHANDISE & ARTWORKS

Development and production of a merchandise collection for FRESH – the first battle rap league for female MCs.

From the end of January to the end of February 2020, we created a merchandise collection for FRESH - including conception and artwork development. The collection consisted of a total of 50 pieces. For us, the focus of every order is the integral interweaving of textile works with the work or mission of our clients. That's why we love co-creative fashion development - our partners are involved in all steps from the idea to the finished merch. In addition to the products themselves, this close collaboration is also an important aspect of sustainability, because it allows us to create something bigger than just "textile add-ons". It creates identification and individuality. For FRESH, we also co-creatively developed the logo design and other artworks.

DIGITALE UPCYCLING WORKSHOPS

Lockdown and homeschooling can be really nerve-wracking! Add to that the fact that you can no longer even go out on the streets together on Fridays to protest for a more responsible approach to our only planet, then frustration and boredom can quickly turn into despair. Youth Culture Center Password Cultra We have therefore developed a series of upcycling workshops that work completely remotely - i.e. from home. With a total of 7 weekly challenges, 10 upcycling hacks and 2 master classes, we saved clothes with the young people and developed sustainable mini-collections that allow them to "wear" the protest and thus make a clear textile statement. Hurray, the world may still be saved after all...

MORAL

The first collection of stolen goods.
With MORAAL, the stolen goods are the first to trace the silent legacies of a questionable production and exploitation landscape - in the immediate environment, in a somewhat expanded existence, in the neighborhood, abroad. It is about the same old, boring narratives of "alternatives" and the attempt to soften a logic that tells of the beginning and the end.

Our debut collection MORAAL originally consisted of 23 unique pieces, but due to high demand, 33 more pieces were produced.

D.O.P.E. TRAVEL

Hehlerei is more than a fashion label - it designs and produces with/for small and medium-sized labels, designers, fashion designers, bands, musicians, artists, activists, teams, crews, clubs, associations, cultural workers & creatives - in summary: for all like-minded people who want to supply their audience with stolen goods. For the theater company "Fettwerk" (Duisburg/Cologne) we designed and produced DOPE Travel: The mini-collection consists of 40 dopamine-soaked unique pieces and fits perfectly into the theatrical experience of "Happybox", the debut piece by Fettwerk.
In addition to the merchandise line for the play, Hehlerei also designed the costumes for all actors.

UPCYCLING WORKSHOP KAS

For the Kaiserin Augusta School in Cologne Hehlerei organized a full-day fashion upcycling workshop, during which 35 young people from Tel Aviv and Cologne had the opportunity to design and produce their own stolen goods across 5 creative stations (fashion design, screen printing, sewing, refinement, photo shoot).

RE/UP/STORE

As part of the Passagen 2019, Heherei organized together with the furniture sharing startup READYMADE the "RE/UP/STORE" - a place for new, old and everything in between or next to it. The store concept breaks with the usual shopping rituals in the furniture and fashion world. In the RE/UP/STORE, it was possible to experience over 7 days that sustainable and fair consumption can be far more pleasant, easier and more beautiful than shopping in Schildergasse. During the first three days, the Hehlerei called for clothing donations. From the donations, we designed and produced the mini collection "LEAKS" over the following days. The concept arose spontaneously, inspired by the donors and by current media events. A large part of the collection was produced in the open workshop of the RE/UP/STORES, so that visitors could follow the production process live.
